No show this week

Sorry, listeners:  due to circumstances beyond our control, we will not have a new Hucklebug this week.  Stennie’s Lowlight of the Week interfered with the recording schedule.  Our special guest has already confirmed for next week, so we will be back with Episode 180 as originally planned next weekend.  We apologize for the inconvenience.

Missing you guys this week…AND I hope that by next week’s show, Stennie’s lowlight is nothing more than an expensive “phew!” Love you!

For years, Mike has confounded and delighted us with his tough lyrics quizzes.  Tonight we are turning the tables on him!  Here is his quiz:

    1)
I wonder what went wrong, I waited far too long
I think I’ll take a walk and look for her

    2)
    Funny how my memory slips
    While looking over manuscripts
    Of unpublished rhyme
    Drinking my vodka and lime

    3)
At the party she was kindness in the hard crowd
Consolation for the old wound now forgotten

    4)
When the day comes, and you know you’re down
In a river of trouble you’re about to drown

    5)
    Better call, call the law
When you gonna turn yourself in, yeah

    6)
My beloved, let’s get down to busines
    Mental self-defense fitness
    Bum rush the show
You’ve got to go with what you know

    7)
And you know, I’m so wired up
Don’t need no coffee in my cup

    8)
I spy tears in their eyes
They look to the skies for some kind of divine intervention
Food goes to waste, so nice to eat, so nice to taste

    9)
That’s the price that we all pay, our valued destiny comes to nothing
I can’t tell you where we’re going, I guess there’s just no way of knowing

    10)
Like an eagle protects his nest, for you I’ll do my best,
Stand by you like a tree, dare anybody to try and move me

    11)
Always time for a good conversation
There’s an ear for what you say

    12)
Your love has set my soul on fire, burnin’ outta control
You taught me the ways of desire, now it’s takin’ its toll

    13)
Didn’t hear your wicked words every day
And you used to be so sweet, I heard you say

    14)
Red for treble, green for bass,
They’re wired in sequence round the place
You wait till ten, then try to take off your tie

    15)
Pouring out your charms to meet your own demands
And you turn it off at will

    16)
If you had the strength to walk out that door
My love would overrule my sense and I’d call you back for more

    17)
Day by day it’s hard to see the changes you’ve been through
A little bit of living, a little bit of growing all adds up to you

    18)
I met you in the morning
waiting for the tides of time
But now the tide is turning
I can see that I was blind

    19)
Would you mind a reflecting sign
Just let it shine within your mind
And show you the colors that are real

    20)
I don’t mind if you lose as long as you came with it
And you can cry, ain’t no shame in it

Argh—can’t wait for Monday for the results!  I got one.
