Episode 159

Hucklebug, Episode 159: RIP Ferrante (of Ferrante and Teicher, whoever they are) and obscure TV actor Robert Ginty; shout-outs; happy (?) Yom Kippur; movies (Bet: Our Winning Season, Saturday Night & Sunday Morning, Nobody Knows; Stennie: Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist, Nothing Sacred, A Face in the Crowd); highlights & lowlights; fuck-offs and you-rules; some Top Fives.

NOTE:  Our recording cut out when we still had about five minutes left to record, so we started a new session, and in those last five minutes or so the sound is a little garbled on my end. I tried to figure out how to fix it but couldn’t.  We also recorded the intro and out-tro to next week’s outtake show at the same time, that is also garbled—but I’ll try to find a fix before next weekend.

Music:  “The Hucklebuck,” performed by Otis Redding, Lee Rocker, and Frank Sinatra.

Episode 158

Hucklebug, Episode 158: This week’s episode we’ve done something a little different.  On recording night we were a little extra chatty and didn’t feel much like sticking to format.  Here is the result, with only minimal editing and bumper music thrown in.  It’s extra-long.

Pre-show chatter: saying dumb stuff to customers; spoilers for fuck-offs; pets; The RIP Show:  Army Archerd, Larry Gelbart, Patrick Swayze, Henry Gibson, Jim Carroll, Mary Travers; new Drinking Game rule; Happy Rosh Hoshana; shout-outs; child abuse is hilarious; re: Shaun of the Dead commentary; organizing the Hucklebug CD Mix 10 Alternate Tracks Round Table Discussion; movies; Bet’s highlight, fuck-offs and you-rules.

Music:  “The Hucklebuck,” performed by Otis Redding, Lee Rocker, and Frank Sinatra.

Special – Shaun of the Dead DVD Commentary

Hucklebug Special – Shaun of the Dead commentary.  Due to some scheduling conflicts this weekend, we are breaking out our “emergency episode” that we’ve spoken of once or twice.  This week’s episode is a DVD commentary for the Edgar Wright/Simon Pegg film Shaun of the Dead, sometimes called the Official Movie of the Hucklebug.  You will need a DVD of the movie to listen along—it will probably not make much sense on its own.  If you haven’t seen the movie yet, we don’t actually comment on it all that much, so we will barely get in your way.  Watch, listen and enjoy.  We’ll be back next week with Episode 158.

Music:  Queen, “Don’t Stop Me Now,” and “You’re My Best Friend.”

Episode 157

Hucklebug, Episode 157: Shout-outs, movies (Stennie: Reno 911!: Miami, A Star is Born, Bet: Henry V, O Brother Where Art Thou?), highlights & lowlights, fuck-offs & you-rules, Remainder of the 20 Interesting Questions Survey, which as you may recall is only 16 questions.

Music:  “The Hucklebuck,” performed by Otis Redding, Lee Rocker, and Frank Sinatra.
