I enjoy the original [English] version of Antiques Roadshow, going strong for 35 years. (I watch it on Ovation network.) They broadcast from a variety of interesting, and often outdoor locations in all kinds of weather……from industrial to churches to racecourses to seaside pavilions. One recent episode was broadcast from Port Sunlight, a housing estate built by Lord Lever (as in soap) at the turn of the century for his workers. You can tell the age of the episode depending on the host — older ones with Michael Aspel who has done everything from Capital Radio, one of the first commercial radio stations in England, to BBC News; more recent ones are with Fiona Bruce.
Did you catch the recent Independent Lens about Muscle Shoals, Alabama? It was full of unexpected and amazing stories of integration in the 1960’s in the South. We highly recommend it — very entertaining and educational.
Good evening, Ladies! Fun show.
My favorite way to vent: Bang computer keyboard
Bet -are you catching any American Idol??? We have been recording it pretty religiously – I really have enjoyed this season and the judges. Since about top 8 or so it’s been a great variety show of music performances.
