  1. Lily G. says:

“Death by bunga” is the punch line to a joke. I don’t remember all the details, but it’s something like a missionary goes to some primitive culture and commits some kind of infraction. He is told about death by bunga, and is offered some other way to die (somewhat horrid). The missionary tearfully agrees, and the local chieftain says. “Okay! But first….a little bunga.”

  2. Lily G says:

The children’s author is Tomi Ungerer – we just read the book about the snake this week. “Crictor”. I remember that one from when I was a kid. We also have a good one called “The Three Robbers” – some highwaymen kidnap an orphan who doesn’t want to go off to her relatives. She asks them what they did with their loot, and they hadn’t really thought about it. So eventually they build a city for all the orphans and unwanted children to live happily ever after.

  3. Donna says:

One of these days I am going to remember to have a pen and paper by my side when I listen to the podcast. I am caught up but for the last 20 minutes of last week’s episode but can I think of a darn thing on which to comment? Heck no. So, hello and have a great show. l always love listening although I must confess I have never seen a F&G episode — I guess that drops me way down on the “hip” spectrum.

“Brutally, anally gangraped?” Is there such a thing as “Gently, analy gangraped?”

So Bet – did you watch the Fisher King? I don’t know if everyone can appreciate it – I spent a lot of my education studying the French and German literature of the Middle Ages, particularly stories of King Arthur and his knights – this movie is based on the story of Perceval. It’s wonderful. And I DO like NY in June! What about you?

About I Love Lucy – I read somewhere a while back that ILL has never been off the air, ever. It has been in reruns in some country in the world since it stopped filming. Don’t know if that’s true, but it sounds about right to me.

A word about Joan Rivers – her death leaves no hole in my gut like Robbin Williams. There was a brief time in the 80s when I received an album of hers as a gift. I listened, I liked it, and then I was over it. She was unfunny, but a character. RIP, but whatever.

Apropos ants – They are also attracted to Punim’s food. I use a spray called Greenway 7 Formula to keep ants out. It’s made of caster oil and almond oil with gycerin – so nothing in it that is harmful to pets. Works like a charm. I got it at a green festival last year, sprayed the baseboards with it, and have never seen another ant again. I highly recommend it. The website on the bottle is intentional. thegreenwayformula.com
