    Hola! Happy end of January.
I will give a little nudge that I actually really like Windows 10. I did upgrade to Windows 8 and had multiple problems with some things – but I will say Windows 10 takes the best of what 8 was trying to do and things work pretty well/are laid out where you would expect. I’m using a Surface with a touch screen – but even without the touchscreen things make a lot of sense now. So don’t worry, when the time comes – it will be OK!!

So due to your like of Grease – any plans to watch Fox Grease Live?

Stennie – the issue Doug mentioned is now that you are were each in one ear like the old days of the Hucklebug. So it isn’t that you switched, just if you are walking towards the train and are afraid of traffic or people sneaking so you have one earbud in you only get one side of the conversation! But this one it was back to the old with both in both ears!

    Dear Bet and Stennie,

Thank you so much for your tribute to Bowie in episode 414. It took me a while to get enough guts to listen because I knew it would be emotional for me. I really loved everything you both said, sharing your memories, and thanks also for thinking of me. Stennie, you had me in tears of laughter remembering some of the fun times we’ve had, and so many of them Bowie-related.

As for favorite Bowie tunes, I loved all the ones y’all mentioned. Surprised by a couple choices, too! John, I’m Only Dancing is such a catchy tune and one of his first gay anthems (Two boyfriends are gossiping in the disco and one starts dancing with a girl, but reassures his boyfriend “John, I’m only dancing/She turns me on, but I’m only dancing”). He completely remade the song in a disco version in 1974.
And “I’m Afraid of Americans” is a wonderful choice: one of my faves from the last 20 years and not often remembered. (“God is American…”).

Under Pressure was one of the first Bowie songs I learned since I loved Queen and listened to their Greatest Hits album constantly. Like so many people, I knew many of Bowie’s songs before I knew who sang them. My first Bowie record was the ChangesOneBowie album, which I listened to about a thousand times. Later, I got the less popular ChangesTwo album, and its first track Aladdin Sane completely stunned me. Mike Garson’s otherworldly piano solo left me dumbstruck and I knew then I had to consume every morsel of Bowie’s output.

The Young Americans album is in my top three favorite Bowie albums. If you like that one, you might enjoy Black Tie, White Noise from 1993. It’s a little more electronic sounding and certainly a more mature, romantic Bowie, but there are some great soul tunes on that one. I also love the Hunky Dory album like Stennie. So many gems on that one: Changes, Oh! You Pretty Things, and of course Life on Mars?, my most sentimental favorite song since I sang it for my Jesus Christ Superstar audition a little over 20 years ago. That’s right, Heidi – we’ve known each other for 20 years!

    Love you both~~

    Hi gang!

This week’s ep had an error when downloading, so I haven’t listened yet. Argh. Happy podcasting today!

    Kellie,

Thanks for the backup! You nailed it, I’m used to leaving one ear bud out when I’m around people……….!
