Stennie: My cat loves plastic bags but thankfully she just thinks they hide stuff inside so it is just a big game for her to run onto them, slide on the kitchen floor, and bat them around. That would be scary if she ate them! So sorry to hear about Gracie. It took us 5 years to get another cat after previous Millie.
Bet & Stennie: you guys did an EXCELLENT job on the topic. I loved that you both started with making sure you had your favorite music! Bet – the wall calendar is truly an excellent idea. Stennie – the Slinky!!! And the language dictionary – perfect ideas!
I’m sad to say I didn’t even think about my cat – but as soon as you were both talking about webcam/Skype – I thought that was a great idea!!
E did get to go to Space camp one summer – it was the year that there was a Star Wars traveling exhibit there so it was actually JEDI camp!! How great – I don’t know that he remembers a lot of it (he had just turned 10) but at least the parts I saw they did a really neat job.
My other things to bring: maps of the earth so I could learn some geography. Books to learn about gravity and how a rocket actually takes off from the earth, and star charts.
I am so sorry to hear about Gracie! Please send your mom my good thoughts too. There are very few things sadder to me than the passing of a doggie. RIP Baybee.
Bags- Punim is terrified of them. They make noise, they fly around outside, they’re just too much – unless they are in my hand to pick up his poo, he wants nothing to do do with them.
I know this is from an older show, but I’m going to do the postcard thingie too. It sounds like fun!
Stenns – your review of Hail Caesar crushed me. I plan to see it anyway, but like you, I want to love it. OH I hope it doesn’t suck. I agree with you on Jonah Hill by the way. Why is he an actor?
We were sorry to hear about Gracie, too. I always enjoy hearing any of your all’s Pet Stories and since they have included some about Gracie, I feel like we kinda knew her.
I was working on our taxes yesterday and found a little tidbit that made me think about your RTFM segments. I was looking at an IRS publication of non-deductible expenses and this one struck me funny:
“Wristwatches: You can’t deduct the cost of a wristwatch, even if there is a job requirement that you know the correct time to properly perform your duties.”
Have a good show. Again.
Thoughts and prayers to your mom, Stennie, about Gracey. π
Yes, my all time favorite movie IS Space Camp, I can’t believe you remembered! Sadly, I have not been to Space Camp (yet), but it was my greatest passion as a kid. I had astronauts on my walls as a kid instead of celeb heartthrobs. There is adult Space Camp, so I may still try someday.
Wow, my list to take to the space station…I would need considerable time to think on that, but off the top of my head, definitely some inspirational music and a few DVDs for when I just get so sick of looking at the horrendous view outside. π Depending upon which astronauts were onboard, I’d bring some books on topics they’re experts in and learn as much as I could from them (way better than taking a class), even trying to do my own few experiments with maybe cooking and exercise/muscle testing.
