My word for 2019 I think will be “Consistency.” That goes for working out, nutrition, laundry, dishes, vacuuming, paper clutter, meditating, etc. 2018 got so crammed full of things in my life that I was overwhelmed and things got done wherever I found the time. This year, some of that is off my plate now, so I want to be more consistent with daily/weekly things I let slide before.
I also saw Marie Kondo’s show. I could only watch a few episodes because I can’t handle drama between couples on reality shows. And that first couple with the two little kids arguing about stuff, I was like “nope.”
Stennie, thanks for the Konde-ing tip. I don’t have netflix but I saw some stuff online and then suddenly I’ve been seeing that she has become a verb and all the charities that take donations/trash collectors either love or hate her due to the quantity of ‘things that don’t give you joy’ being given/thrown away.
Bet, yes I have a horned frog connection. We both taught there for a couple of years. Also, I got a new Kipling bag over the holiday that fits a bigger tablet I got in the summer. Thanks again for the Kipling heads up!!
Tardy Happy New Year!! I’m all caught up, finally. This defining word for the year thing – I have to tell you that it’s made me hinky. Like, full-on Betster-style Hinky. (With a capital H.). But I think I’ve decided I’m going with “strength.” It’s going to gake a lot of strength to make it through 2019.
What words have Scout, Lincoln and Milo chosen?
Also – Bohemian Rhapsody, the movie. I still can’t get over how awful the movie was, particularly since the Golden Globe win and the Oscar nomination. It’s because the movie is about Freddie. People are just Freddie-starved after nearly 30 years without him. It’s astounding though – it took 10 years to make that crap.
The only thing I can credit the movie with is my insatiable need to listen to Queen ever since listening to the movie. Thoughts?
I saw the missive on The Facebook and thought I abolutely MUST post a comment…..and then I fell asleep. Looks like there is still time, though. However, tonight you record Episode 523. At the beginning of this week, we were in the middle of Episode 510. We are now in the middle of 515. So, to say we are behind is nothing but the truth but I feel terribly guilty when I hear things directed to us and we haven’t responded, thanked you or said, “you are welcome.” One that quickly comes to mind is you all giving my SuitcaseTales blog props. It has been a bit on the snooze lately but it is going to have an exciting 2019.
I have to admit on the depression part, I suffer a bit, too, from time to time. We had a group meeting at work without about 20 of us. It was in early December and we had a guest speaker who was all excited about the season and made us go around the room and say what our favorite thing about Christmas. I was the only one to admit that it is not an easy time for me.
Happy 2019 to you both! Thank you for your steadfastness. I so enjoy your brutal honesty about all things, whether it be about your depression or your toilet paper!
