Unfortunately (well, maybe fortunately for you all), I think I will be with you for much more of the podcastathon than I originally thought. In your effort to make Nick-the-cancer-not-the-child ill, Nick-the-child-not-the-cancer seems to have come down with something in sympathy.  We may be homebodies for the day.

    Hi!
I’m your friendly blogathon monitor. I’m here to support you tomorrow. If you need anything, if you have any questions or problems, just let me know. You’ve got my email in this comment, and if you go to my site my IM info is there.

Since I intend to sleep in, I’ll give you your first quizzes now.  First up: the song snippets quiz.  Name the five instrumental songs based on the clips presented here:

(Note: I’ve got three more of these ready to go.)

And your lyrics quiz.  First up: these all mention brands of cars.  Name these tunes (note: I’ve got 3 more of these on the shelf).  Good luck, and have fun tomorrow!

    Cars
    ——
My car’s out front and it’s all mine
    Just a ‘41 Ford, not a ‘59

Out past the cornfields, where the woods got heavy
Out in the back seat of my ‘60 Chevy

Though you may not drive a great big Cadillac
Gangster whitewalls, tv antennas in the back

But parked in a rickety old garage
Is a brand new, shiny red Super Stock Dodge

Won’t go to Harlem in Lincolns or Fords

He coughs as he passes her Ford Mustang
But Heaven forbid, she’ll take anything
