  1. Brenda says:

My favorite movie is “Gone With The Wind”!!

Now come on, ladies. You can’t expect *me* to just post what my (other) favorite movie is and leave it at that, do you?

Well, if Martin Sheen was president I would be happy. I think they don’t have a war on cancer because it’s boring. Plus it’s not easy for us to help. We can’t enlist in the army against cancer or donate pantyhose or anything like that.

Weather-wise, in NYC we’ve had 10-25 degree temperature swings from one day to the next since I’ve been back. My Japanese instructor is back in Tokyo right now and the other day posted a photo on Facebook of freshly bloomed cherry blossoms with a sheet of snow over them. Then there are massive floods in the midwest. This, on top of the earthquake in China, the bombing in Boston, and the exploding fertilizer factory in Texas, it’s like the world is ending!

Oh and in other news, I got selected by Google to be a Google Explorer. Which means I had to borrow $1500 from my dad (he’s a fellow tech head so he understood my enthusiasm)so I can buy the Google Glass. I actually came up with something similar for a novel I wrote back in 2009, which is why I’m so psyched to get one. The only problem is that I have to buy it in person at Google here in NYC, in SF or LA. This is a problem because for once in my life I am traveling a lot and may not be in town when they DM me on Twitter to come get it. Google has been so weird about things related to Glass that they may be shitty about it and not let me pick it up after I get back. I’ve got my step-dad’s memorial service this weekend and then, in mid-May, I go back to visit Sierra for the last time and bring her back with me! But first we’re spending some time in Europe. So I’m not sure how patient Google will be.

Oh and I have a tie for my favorite movie, Sten, DAS BOOT is one of them but the other is CINEMA PARADISO. But odds are you guys have both seen CP. You can also try to track down my second-favorite film “SWORD OF DESPERATION” which I have plugged before. Oh and I am not yelling these movie titles at you–I recently connected with an old writer buddy of mine from LA who reminded me that, in the Business (Hollywood), you always type titles in all caps. Though, to be honest, I do enjoy reading them in my head as though I am yelling them. πŸ™‚

Oh and I understand why Milo is so excited–when I last shaved my head I felt the same way. I kept touching my scalp and moving my head around to feel the breeze on the back of my neck. It was AWESOME!! (I am yelling that, actually.)

Isn’t VIKINGS on the History Channel? It’s an ok show. Not great, but it’s something to have on. There was a Jesus miniseries they ran, which was ten episodes long, so I bet that’s what you kept seeing, Sten. I saw that they had cast a hunky guy is J-man. Maybe you should have watched?

I thought the topic this week was about your guys’ favorite Beatles album covers. Like, the art on them. See, I’m stupid sometimes.

Oh and speaking of the Beatles and their wives, check out this photo I took at “Trip to Bountiful” last week: http://instagram.com/p/YUCxs_yrqL/ how weird is that? I should have asked him about his jacket. (No, it wasn’t Bowie wearing it.)
