  1. Capt. A says:

I saw the last Howdy Doody show and the first Capt. Kangaroo show.

Mr. Greenjeans was gay. I knew it even then.

  2. When I directed “schoolhouse rock” at BTG, my pre-show music was the tv-cartoon theme song cd… thanks for the trip down memory lane ladies!

  3. Kellie says:

Bet. Thanks for Nebraska recommend. I didn’t know anything about it until the oscars but I thought it looked good! Thanks for the bladder commercial. So glad the band concert went well!

Stennie, you make me want to get a new pillow. Wow. Had no idea bum steer wasn’t about cattle!

Cartoons I really remember liking I don’t think were mentioned. Fat Albert, Woody woodpecker, Pink panther, Captain Caaaaveman, speed racer. I really liked Wacky races Stennie!! Totally agree with you about solid gold!!!

Sorry, scooby doo was the best. Like reading encyclopedia brown, I liked to try to solve the mysteries!

For live action, I also really remember watching Land of the lost and starting the day with Mutual of Omaha wild kingdom? Was that right? Talk about branding that worked if so!!

And mr m speaking of howdy doody made me think of local “buckskin bill” show that I watched after kindergarten in Baton Rouge. http://rhythmcityla.com/memories-of-a-childhood-icon-buckskin-bill-p456-94.htm. He showed howdy doody clips. And I saw Davy cartoons on a Sunday morning show with a guy who would read and show us the Sunday funnies from the ft worth star telegram. Maybe we need a favorite local personalities show list!

  4. Kellie says:

Sorry, I forgot. Sad realization of the day: Ervin doesn’t know about Sunday funnies or Saturday morning cartoons:(

  5. Donna says:

To the Phraseology Guru — have you seen this article?

Here we are, behind again, but I wanted to add two favorite soundtracks: Henry V and Honeysuckle Rose (1980).
