I’m not done listening yet, but I already have some comments.
1. Kate Bush – she was a huge favorite of a friend of mine in college. I was partial to Babushka at the time, but now can’t deal that it has been an earworm for the past hour. So, thanks for that. I am also not a fan, but I don’t hate her – I just don’t care.
2) Favorite Police song – I really like “Don’t Stand So Close to Me,” but then there is also, “Can’t Stand Losing You.” As for the worst, I’m going with “Mother” as well, but “King of Pain” is right up there. (Or down there…)
More to come. Liking the show so far, by the way. Don’t be so hard on yourselves. As long as you’re not playing Jenga, I’m pretty much happy with the show.
Hello ladies:
Grilled cheese – we had a restaurant in Blacksburg called Abbys that made your basic grilled cheese (white bread, american cheese, with a couple of pickle slices on top) with a side of vegetable soup. I absolutely loved going there in winter for lunch! Yummy!
Speaking of winter – yes, it also landed her last week – we had so many days with the ‘feels like -14’ that when Sunday came around – went out at 1p and shoveled a few inches of snow – it was sunny and 32. I had to take off on my coats and my sweater – it felt SOOOO WARM!!! Everything is relative, for sure!!
Last week I listened to a podcast that reviewed Taylor Swift’s new album and talked about her song ‘Shake it off’ – and played the clip ‘haters gonna hate…’ and I had heard that portion being played in pieces by folks but didn’t realize that was her song – so I went and found the video on YouTube and then it came up with 5 more videos that had the outtakes – which I am a sucker for. End result – ear worm for the week. I had it conquered sometime around Sunday or Monday. Bet – thanks for the quote and getting that back in my head 😉 I owe you an ear worm!
Comet – so fun to think about it – it also makes me think of Armageddon movie which I know you lambast but I have to watch at least once a quarter – I think Steve Buscemi has some hilarious parts – like when he flips out and then they have to duct tape him, I love Owen Wilson’s line about ‘all you had to say was it will be the scariest thing you can imagine’,I love Billy Bob getting the geeky science guys to defy orders, it is EXTREMELY predictable in parts, but when Bruce Willis tells AJ ‘take care of my little girl..that’s your job now’ I cry every time. So there. Guilty pleasure!
I really enjoyed the song section at the end with best/worst and fact/crap – worked out lovely – fun to listen to. I’ve already watched carded and discarded a couple nights ago while avoiding some grading so bring on next week!
